Merchant of Poetry …by Osalam Wosu

Eriata Oribhabor, president of Poets In Nigeria…the merchant of poetry himself…

Tales have spread of an enigma

Who has bestowed on himself a dogma

To rain on us verses of gold

And dry us with words from the ensuing

Tales have spread of a preacher

Who presages the ascent of creativity

With gait gumptious, exuding positivity

A king who bends and feeds his

Spitting wisdom in a world where the wise are rejects
Bells have rung in market places

In crowded prisons and empty palaces

A merchant amongst others

Standing solidly as a rock

His name is Eriata Oribhabor

And he says “poetry is in stock”
